Genesis 41:41 – So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt.”

Joseph was hated by his brothers only because his father loved him more. The fact that he was his father’s favourite made him to be an enemy of his very own brothers. This story is not only a Biblical story, it is a story that happens to many of us. We get hated by people, sometimes people closest to us for none other than jealousy reasons. But, like in the story of Joseph, God cares for us and his plan and process comes to pass no matter what.

Joseph’s brothers hated him so much so that they plotted to kill him. In the process of doing this, something changed and they decided to sell him as a slave instead. Joseph ended in a prison cell in a foreign land. But because God had deposited something special to him, the prison cell could not contain him. Joseph moved from being a slave into a prison cell, from prison cell straight into the office of a Vizier, the second most powerful man in Egypt after Pharaoh the ruler! What a story.

It is interesting to note that his name Joseph, means ‘increase’ in Hebrew. God knew from the beginning that he will increase the influence of his family even in foreign lands. I cannot imagine the pain and suffering Joseph must have gone through before he became the Vizier. I am sure there we moments he wanted to give in. But God was not done with him.

Friend, I have no clue as to what has been done to you lately. I do not know as to what pain you have suffered. I don’t have a clue as to what has been said to you that has made you want to give in and die. Today, I came to tell you to trust the process. As long as you are alive, God is not done with you. No matter the pain, the embarrassment, the suffering, the shame, and mockery as long as you are still here – God still has a great plan for your life! Like he did for Joseph, your moment to shine is still on the way.

Maybe today they are plotting your downfall. Maybe they are selling you into slavery and poverty. Maybe you are already in a prison cell of some form or the other. No matter what stage you are in, your day of importance where you will rise into your rightful position is coming. Just don’t give up on your dreams. God will see you through this. They did not kill you for a reason. They sold you out for a reason. They imprisoned you for a reason. It was all part of a process. Today, start thanking God for the process. It might be scary and painful, but trust me it is all for your good. Start asking God to give you the strength and courage to go through the process. Trust him and trust the process. You will come out better and greater. God has not forgotten you. Stand still knowing he is your God.

God loves you,
